This one day workshop is designed for the home sewer who would like to learn and extend their knowledge to create a more professional finish. You will be taken through different fabrics, such as chiffon, georgette, jersey, satin and denim and shown the different needles, seams and hems that combine to give a more polished edge to any piece. You will be given instruction in the use of interfacing, underlining and boning and taught the finer points of ease stitching, stay stitching and measuring the body form to reach a perfect fit. Corrie will also take you through how to adapt a pattern, whether by shortening or lengthening and how to merge patterns to create a unique look.

In this workshop you will be given step by step instruction and material to stitch a zip as it would be used in a garment. It can sometimes be difficult to get a zip to lie straight - but after this class, zips will no longer be a problem! All materials included, you will take away a finished sample. Basic dressmaking skills required

A well placed zip can really finish off an article of clothing but sometimes it is important to hide it. In this workshop you will be given the instruction on how to use a concealed zipper foot and taking your zip use to a higher level. All materials included, you will take away a finished sample. Basic dressmaking skills required.
